What is a Frogg Togg Chilly Pad? The Chilly Pad is similar to a chamois. It is a rubbery hyper-evaporative material which is hard when it is dry, but when it is wet it is soft. The pad holds in water like a chamois, yet it is dry to the touch. So you can put it over your shoulders to keep cool, but it won't get your shirt wet. When wet the pad is considerably cooler than the ambient temperature. In between shots during this 100+ degree weather, I've been putting the Chilly Pad over my shoulders and the back of my neck. I'll also pat my face and arms with it occasionally. This thing is really a life saver in the heat. The Chilly Pad stays cool for quite a while, several hours. All that is needed to reactivate it when it dries is to wet it again. It couldn't be easier.
Conclusion Golf in high heat can be uncomfortable and that discomfort can cost strokes. Staying cool on the outside with a Chilly Pad is easy and really a big help in the summer. At under $20, this one is a no-brainer for combating summer heat. Related Links Frogg Togg Pro Action Golf Rain Suit Review
