I had gone across to the driving range, adjacent to the 16th on the Old Course, to hit some golf balls and attempt to rediscover a golf swing that had become a wee bit wayward recently when
I noticed a lovely looking woman golfer hitting some chips on the short game area. Good controlled swing I wonder who she is, I thought to myself? When I went over to the 1st tee to pick up my bag/golfer for the round over the Old Course I noticed that the same young girl was standing with my caddie buddie Colin. He informed me that it was Teresa Lu, a tour rookie on the LPGA Tour currently lying 58th on the money list, who was going to play a couple of rounds over the Old. He later told me that it had been a breeze. She was a lovely girl with a confident attitude and simple swing which will stand her in good stead for the forthcoming season and the Ladies British Open to be held on the Old Course for the first time this August. The following day I watched as she played up the 18th again with Colin caddying and my other caddie buddie James accompanying as her golfing partner. Looks like those two guys may get a bag for the Open in August! Miss Lu certainly got some great tips on what to do on the Old Course over the two rounds. Cheers, John.
