while growing up in park ridge, new jersey, sisters katie and karyn were introduced to the joys of golf at a young age by their father, who would make golf clubs in the basement. golf has always been a part of their lives, whether it was going to the driving range, or watching hours of golf on tv.
as katie and karyn got older their interest in golf grew. after graduating from college, katie and karyn made a point to get out on the course and play as much as possible; this is when they noticed a void in the sport... women's golf apparel.
finding that it was difficult to put a stylish golf outfit together, katie and karyn began talking about how using their creativity, love of fashion and golf, they could create clothes for women that were fun, classic and trendy. with that, girlsgreen was founded in 2003, hit the web in september of 2006, and the rest is history. girlsgreen is for women seeking to look their best on and off the course.
the collection
katie and karyn founded girlsgreen with a mission to infuse style into women’s golf apparel through a cool collection of polos and tees. girlsgreen’s golf polos are classically structured, but updated to incorporate fresh colors and pretty detailing. the polos were designed from scratch, with all of the fabric and detailing handpicked by katie and karyn from in and around the fashion district of manhattan, new york.
the collection covers the range of seasons with short-sleeved polos for spring, sleeveless for the heat of summer and ¾ length sleeved polos for the chill of fall. it was important to katie and karyn that girlsgreen provide a collection that golfers can wear on any given day. focus was also paid in creating a product that can be worn on and off the course. nowadays, polo shirts are just as fashionable for everyday wear as dressier tanks and tees, and why not wear your favorite golf polo with a pair of jeans or cute skirt! activewear is now a versatile part of every woman’s wardrobe and girlsgreens polos were created with this in mind.
as the girlsgreen collection grew, katie and karyn also wanted to create a more casual top that women could wear to the driving range or practice greens; a top that provided the comfort that most look for when practicing, while still being stylish. hence, the girlsgreen range tee was created. tees are now worn all over and are loved for their fun designs and comfortable feel. the girlsgreen range tee collection features cute designs in bright colors that are sure to make you noticed the next time you are swinging away at the range.
