St. Andrews Old Course Tee Times 2009. E-mail
Written by John Boyne
Saturday, 26 July 2008

The applications for 2009 tee times on the Old Course at St. Andrews will be opened on Wednesday the 3rd of September, 2008 at 10am (GMT).

This is the first route golfers should take when looking/wishing to play on the Old Course. The tee times made available from the St. Andrews Links Trust are generally over subscribed and are usually sold out within the first day. More importantly they are also sold at face value.

I would suggest that those who are discussing the idea of playing golf on the Old Course and in Scotland begin to put those plans into action in time for the 3rd September tee time application. Names of the golfers and the dates you wish to play are required.

Once this window for direct tee times has passed the acquiring of secured times becomes a bit more complicated and also expensive. A third party then comes into the equation, which will obviously add on a few more dollars/pounds,  though with the contacts Caddie Golf Tours have built up within St. Andrews it is not entirely impossible to achieve the desired goal within a reasonable price.

If any golfers from TGS are considering coming over to Scotland and the St. Andrews please get in contact for advice about the process of the application and the other routes available to achieving tee times on the Old Course.

I've been trying to figure out how to get there this year but it is looking like I'll have to wait. I must go there soon and I know who's the caddy!

Tony we should be looking at next April for your trip over to St. Andrews. If it is only yourself coming over we can get you a tee time on the Old Course without to much difficulty. Even if two golfers are travelling a tee time should not be a problem during April.

I'll send some stuff over , as previously promised, over the next few weeks. I'm going on holiday tomorrow for two weeks but should have access to a pc.

Cheers, John.

Scruff the St. Andrews Links Trust are quite strict about the tee time allocation and the golfers named on the application do have to be the golfers that turn up to play. Only in extreme circumstances will they allow a replacement of a named golfer from the original application.

There are also safeguards put in place to weed out multiple applications from individuals and from Tour Operators.

Those named are those that are expected to turn up the following year to play. for advice about tee time application for the Old Course please contact me. I'm only to willing to assist in getting you guys over here.

Cheers, John.
