I am thinking about starting a golf tour in the Las Vegas area called the Mulligan Golf Tour. Anyone with information about it, good and bad, I would really appreciate it. There is a 3k investment to start it up and want to know if its worth it. All opinions are welcome. Thanks- Dan
Hmm. Ok. Well I'd say if you love to spend money and not make any, the golf industry is a great place to do that. I'd find some other people who have done it already with the franchise you are considering and get their opinions.
Seems to me there are lots of "tours" going on out there...a few years ago I was approached with a similar opportunity...similar cost....the person trying to get me involved is no longer affiliated with the tour...not even sure the tour still exists.
Hmmmm ... seems like a very large investment without any guarantee of return. From my research, some areas have a decent following, but as TK said, if you've got the money to burn. In the Vegas area, there are alot of tours (pro and am). If you do pursue it, I wish you Fairways and Greens.
Thank you all for your input. It is greatly appreciated. After talking to the golf courses, players, and my friends here at Golf Space I have decided to go with it. There will be a new Golf Tour in Vegas. It will be played on the weekdays instead of the weekends because all of us here have to work weekends. With as many casino employees in this town, me included, I feel this niche is one that hasn't been tapped in to. First tournament will be in October. Thanks again. Dan
But then again, I think I can do it for cheaper on my own..... Can anyone tell me a place to buy a leaderboard, tee box markers, and anything else I need to run a successful tournament...
I can tell your right now that you don't need to spend money on tee box markers and leaderboards. I run an amateur tour here in Las Vegas. www.lvgolftour.com Not to say we have been real successful but first thing you need is players. Once you get your player count up, then get some sponsors and invest in the little things that make a tournament neat.
But you need a plan on how to reach players and create value in your events.
