I conceived & developed the karma component and paid a programmer to program it for TGS.  I then "donated" it to the open source community which opened it up for other people to hack it.   

Since TGS karma went down I found this computer geek in germany who ran with it and made this new version.  It supposedly gives karma for other stuff like posting images and other stuff.  Still learning...  I just hope the damn thing works.  If it does, I'll have to reprogram the modules on the right of the home page...
