Ok golf fans just finished playing Torrey from the Back Tees! I am an 8 Handicap and I am 59 years old. No practice or warm up, just a go to the tee kind of guy who plays about once a week. I have played Torrey as a local for the last eight years and the set up of the fairways was easier than regular play. Three cuts wide! Regular set up only one cut! I shot 86 only hitting only two good drives all day. Boy nice fairways run forever even if you miss your drive. A Par @ the 9th, from 610 yards with driver/3 wood/ 7 wood. Tiger hit driver /5 wood from 280 to the back of the green. The fairways and greens were alot nicer than I am used to and you have to clip the shots off the fairways when chipping. Takes some getting used too. I had a new putting stroke which I picked up while watching a putting lessons being given by Peter Jacobson at the Lexus Tent? Actually I was at the Trophy Club on the patio watching as I was not invited in? Ok but I really liked what I leaned and have to get used to the speed it has given me. You know when you watch the pros putt and the ball just speeds along and then just drops out of site. I can do that now! It's the pendulum motion of the putter . There I gave away the secret....release the putter do not let you hands move past your origination point. I have a tip on hitting straight that will change your life forever if you email me

I will share that also. I parred 18 with driver second good drive I hit all day/ 3 wood / wedge 105 yards out /and 2 putt. Oh yeah and we had fog and wind first nine and then sun came out on the back. A very long round as all the hacks were out trying to play from the back. 6 1/2 hours I think. I think 1/3 of the pros should have broke par and Tiger with two good leggs could have shot 8 under or better! Diffently no excuse for no making the cut! By the way all those that are not city dwellers here I paid $25 dollars to play and $22 for a cart .Oh yeah and the sunset wasn't bad either! I played with my cousin Debbie Dahmer of Big Break Three. She spotted thursday and friday for Tiger in the morning and Els in the afternoon so I got to see first hand where the guys hit from. They are long! Of course shaved fairways like firm ones give you alot of extra run. She also has the last Divit Tiger hit on 7 in the play off. Last one of the seaon. Gotta go NBC is coming to my home to interview Debbie about the divot. Watch your local stations for the story!
