Last season, I worked a good hour and half from my house and I'd break it up with a stop at a
great golf practice range. I really loved that place. It really felt like home everytime I'd go and I got to know everyone that worked there well. The range was beautiful and they even had a short 9-hole 3 par course that was great for practicing iron shots. Very few people would go there since it was pretty far out of a metropolitan area so it often felt like a practice space all to myself. However, I just changed jobs in February and one of my concerns in the change was finding a new place to practice that would be accessible to my commute. My new commute involves travelling on a train and there didn't seem to be any ranges around the train stations that I could hit as soon as I got back to my car. Then, I found it! It's a really nice double-decked range about 8 minutes drive from the train station. There are some great targets set out in the field to aim for and a little practice green set behind the range area that I can practice chipping and putting. Also, there's a nice little mini golf course and batting cages for when I feel like bringing the family up. It's perfect for practicing. On top of that, it's got some great rates for lessons, which I think I'm going to spend some money on this year, and a fully stocked pro shop. I went out and hit a small bucket of balls and then immediately joined the membership club there to start accruing some discounts as I know I'll be spending a lot of time there over the next couple of months.
