I have received hundreds of emails of pretty much the same question. Who am I? Well, I am 39 year old Pro golfer from Woodstock, Ontario Canada. I am married and have 3 Beautiful children. Shannon 14, Megan 12, and Kory 6 years of age. I have played competitive golf since my younger teens throughout Ontario as a Public Member and Club Member of GAO Golf Association of Ontario. My father was a Scratch golfer since the age of 9 years old. Robert Palmer turned Pro in 1968 the year I was born. Ever since I can remember as a little boy my Father striking golf balls at the club range and me sitting on the bench behind him watching. Since I was 3-4 years of age I have been swinging a golf club. Back in the year 1998 I found my soul mate for life. By the year 2000 we had gotten married and I had left golf on the back burner and only played on occasion and some weekends. In the fall of 2000,while working at Toyota in Cambridge Ontario. I was injured in an accident at work being hit by a forklift truck. In the spring of 2001 I was prescribed to get physiotherapy and plenty of daily walking to help heal my injury. So, golfing 36 holes a day 5 to 6 days a week would be good for me. :) Because of my new found passion for golf again I was able to begin to get my game scores down to a single digit handicap and by the fall of 2001 I was playing scratch golf at any course I was able to play. I decided to contact the RCGA Royal Canadian Golf Association to give up my amateur golf status and sign to become Professional. I did my local Qualifying at 2 golf courses. The first one was to prove I could produce a scratch game score card. And the second round and course was to register a scratch handicap to be able to enter a CPGA Canadian Pro Golf Event. The event I decided to turn Pro at was the 2001 CPGA Bayer Invitational in Brights Grove Ontario. Although I did not make the weekend cut. I did realize that week I belonged out there and felt I knew again for sure that I wanted to strike a little white ball for my living. Ever since then It has been our goal as Team Palmer to fulfill my life long Quest to become a PGA touring pro. Since 2003 I have been instructing golf lessons out of 2 local cities to help pursue my dream. One of the hardest things is to have enough funds to pursue this dream that is why most Pros depend on Sponsorship to pursue tournament play. With the cost of Travel, Logging and common amenities trying to play golf for a living can become quite a financial task. But, with the help of Sponsorship We promote the company through wearing and displaying the company's logo on our golf clothes, golf hats and bag. Now in order to have any sort of success we have to mail out on average 400+ Sponsorship Proposals a year to Large Corporations, Manufacturers big and small and Semi-Private Financial Institutions. "Who Is PJ Palmer" is as true as it says to about an average of 300+ pro golfers a year trying to do the exact same thing Team Palmer is trying to accomplish. Basically, I am a Pro Golfer from Ontario Canada, with one goal in mind. Which has been a dream of mine since the age of 4 years old? The day my father Robert John Palmer a CPGA Professional taught me to strike a golf ball.
