LOOKING FOR A FEW "GOOD" GOLFERS E-mail

There are many members of TGS who have ties to the US Military. I am writing this article to make all TGS members aware of a non profit organization called The National Remember Our Troops Campaign (NROTC). The basic mission of NROTC is to honor our troops by providing blue and gold service banners. A Blue Star Banner is displayed to show pride and support for the men and women serving in the military. The Gold Star Banner is displayed to show respect and to honor our troops who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Tom Ruley, is the founder and president of the NROTC. He has been involved in the nonprofit sector for over 20 years; he explains how NROTC came about…”The concept of The National Remember Our Troops Campaign came to me in August of 2004 when I watched a show on the History Channel about the Blue Star Service Banner… when I learned that no organization was providing these banners to the families of our service members on a national scale, I naturally concluded that an organization could be formed to accomplish this worthy goal”.

NROTC MISSION STATEMENT

To give away over two million Blue Star Service Banners to families of our active duty military personnel.

Most importantly it is our honor and duty to present a Gold Star Service Banner to the loved ones of our fallen troops who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

To contribute to the relief of distressed military service members, veterans, and especially the severely wounded and their families.

LOOKING FOR A FEW “GOOD” GOLFERS

“Fund raising is a never ending task and we are looking to the golfing community for help”, said Tom Ruley, as he announced the first annual Military Charity and Fallen Hero Memorial Golf Tournament will be played in Annapolis, Maryland next to the U.S Naval Academy . “We plan on hosting about 200 golf tournaments per year. The country will be divided into 50 regions, and we plan on having four tournaments in each region and bringing the winning teams together for a Grand National NROTC Championship tournament”.

TGS members, Tom Ruley needs your help. He needs players and sponsors. He also is looking for tournament coordinators for each region and is offering a lucrative income opportunity for the right person. Visit http://www.nrotc.org/annapolisopen.htm for full details.
