Phil Mickelson will be using 2 drivers at next weeks Masters. No sand wedge for Mickelson at Augusta.
"There are no sand wedges at Augusta now," the 35-year-old American told reporters after taking an eight-shot lead into Sunday's final round at the BellSouth Classic.
"Have you seen how long that thing is? I don't know where I would ever hit a sand wedge there.
"I've played it however many times the last couple of days, played it however many times the last few years and there's just no need for a sand wedge if they have lengthened it."
The FT-3 Fade that is 45" and goes 295 yards with a cut. The FT-3 Draw this is 46" and goes 310 with a draw.
He is using 2 different shafts in them, 1 Black Dimana and a silver one.

Kraft Nabisco Championship not shown locally |

My local CBS station "WCSC" in Charleston, SC" decided not to show the
Kraft Nabisco Championship today. Instead they are showing a taped
delay Cooper River Bridge Run.
Granted the Cooper River Bridge Run is a
big event for Charleston South Carolina, but right now Michelle Wie is
tied for the lead heading into the back 9 and no one in their local
viewing area can watch it. This episode of "running" is also a repeat
that was shown this morning.
So why are they doing a repeat for
something already shown this morning ?
I am sure money has something to do with it. Let me explain this more.
With a local show WCSC can use their locally paid commercials VS the
networks. The more "local" commercials they show the more money they
make. There is also no taped delayed showing of the Kraft Nabisco
Championship later tonight.
I urge all the local golf fans in the Charleston, SC area to email the
local CBS station and voice your opinion about this poor choice.

Today I turned 54. i've been playing golf for just over 20 years now and still kick myself for having ignored this game for the first 34 years of my life. Guess I'm just slow sometimes.
Tomorrow morning, my buds and I are off to Myrtle Beach for 10 days of golf from daylight to dark 9and maybe longer). We have a good list of courses lined up to play the first week and I am wound up tighter than a cheap watch. Couldn't sleep so I got on the Net and startied browsing and cam across this site. Said "Waht the hell" and jumped in.
I'll try to review the courses played and some of the stories generated by our group, The Goodwin Cup players.
Hit'em long and strong! |

Tiger's newest campaign for Greatness |

Tiger Woods, long known for swing overhauls, has shocked the golfing world with his latest plans for improvement. At a recent press conference, Woods was giddy with excitement as he detailed his plan for total golf domination.
"This will sound crazy, buy within 3 weeks, I feel that I will consistently shoot in the 50s," Woods said as cameras flashed and reporters hastily pecked away on their laptops. Usually a man of privacy, Woods' enthusiasm could not be contained.
"Here my plan. I have ordered the following apparatus. The Inside Approach, the JackHammer Diamond Driver, a Lovett wedge, 2 perfect clubs, 2 bar putter, and a speed stick. Since each of these items guarantee instant improvement by 3-5 strokes off of handicaps, it is a can't miss."
"I have fired Hank and told him that for only 3 payments of 39.95, I will improve much faster than I ever did working under him. And to think, I paid him thousands of dollars."
When asked about how Nike reacted to the news of his switch in clubs, Tiger turned serious. "I don't care what Nike thinks. Let them sue me for breach of contract. The one thing I know for sure though is that with my new JackHammer driver, I will be able to reach every par 4 on tour and possibly some par 5's. Think about it--I hit my Sasquatch 330-350: with the guaranteed 10-20 percent increase in distance, suddenly I will easily be hitting 400 yds per drive."
Tiger closed by saying. "Go ahead Tiger-proof your courses. Make them longer, narrower, whatever you want to do. I will make them all obsolete."
Unfortunately, the media was not able to ask any more questions as Woods cut the press conference short. "Sorry guys, but I have to get home. I'm expecting my Peter Jacobsen Swing Jacket to be deleivere today."
Woods will show off his new swing Thursday at the Masters. When told of Woods' bold statement, Augusta National chairman, Hootie Johnson said, "Well ain't that something. He's gonna shoot 55 at the National. Sounds like I better get Fazio back on the line."

J B Holmes bag change? |

Thursday, 30 March 2006 |
Now Mr Holmes here has had a pretty good start to his debut season on the PGA Tour. He came from nowhere to be medalist at Q-School last year and won the FBR Open in like only his 4th (don't quote me here) start on Tour. He hit's it mile, although who doesn't on tour nowadays. But also a farily solid game apart from the big stick
He won the FBR with the new Titleist 695 CB's in the bag. Now he's switched to Cobra's. No offence to Cobra but why. The irons he had got him on tour, won him first event. Now too me a rookie on tour has enough to learn, let alone getting used to a new brand of clubs as well .
Maybe I'm just jealous. |

At the brilliant suggestion of my buddy Doug from Golfdash I've done a major overhaul of the intro/splash page. That is the home page people who are not registered or signed in will see.
Check it out. It's very clean and simple now. Much more elegant. Let me know your thoughts. I may add one more module to it as per your suggestions.
You won't see this particular page if you are logged in. Log out to see it!
