In 2007, Nick Flanagan won three times on the Nationwide Tour to earn his 2008 PGA Tour card. Rob Bolton examines this year's graduating class.

 Dean Wilson-GNov. 22 - 7:36 am et
Dean Wilson posted a 1-over-par 71 in the opening round of the Hawaii State Open on Friday.
It's official. Wilson is OK. He's four shots off the pace in his title defense at home, but at least he's physically able to compete. This erases any suspicion of why he withdrew from the Frys.com Open after one round.

 Nick Flanagan-GNov. 21 - 11:13 am et
Nick Flanagan withdrew from the second stage of Q School in California on Thursday, citing back spasms.
The Aussie shot an opening round 79 before calling it quits at Oak Valley GC in Beaumont. He dealt with the ailment all year, landing at 169th on the PGA Tour money list. The WD means that he will be returning to the Nationwide Tour and will be limited to seven sponsor's exemptions on the PGA Tour in 2009. "It is a very disappointing finish to the year but something that I have to deal with and get resolved before the 2009 season begins," he said in a statement. "Hopefully I will be able to participate at the (Australian) PGA Championship (Dec. 4-7) and Australian Open (Dec. 11-14) but at this stage it is touch and go." Because Flanagan has lost his PGA Tour status, we will leave him off our injury list.

 Michael Campbell-GNov. 21 - 11:03 am et
Michael Campbell withdrew from the Hong Kong Open today, citing a shoulder injury.
Campbell turned in an opening round 71 on Thursday but pulled out before his second round, revealing that he has been dealing with a sore shoulder since the British Open. "My shoulder has been causing me concern for some time now," Campbell said, "and it was hurting so much last night I had to call a doctor to my hotel. He had a look at it and the good news was that he said it's all muscular and there's no tearing of the tissue." The Kiwi is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday, November 24. While he's hardly fantasy-worthy in most formats, he is eligible to compete in all four majors through 2010 (U.S. Open through 2015). We will follow this and update you accordingly, but Campbell remains scheduled to compete in next week's Australian Masters.

 Tommy Armour III-GNov. 20 - 10:18 pm et
Tommy Armour III crafted a 6-under-par 66 in the opening round of the Pebble Beach Invitational.
Armour played the Del Monte Golf Course, one of three on the Monterey Peninsula used for the event. He finished four strokes behind 18-hole leader, John Cook, who blistered Del Monte for a 62. More importantly, Armour's round is great news for fantasy formats that always appreciate live action from golfers returning from an injury. Meanwhile, Rocco Mediate withdrew from the event due to personal reasons after signing for a 74, also at Del Monte.

 Nick O'Hern-GNov. 20 - 10:00 pm et
Nick O'Hern will have surgery on his left thumb on Tuesday, November 25, keeping him outside the ropes for up to 12 weeks.
O'Hern suffered the injury at the AT&T National in early July, but still managed a season-best T-3 at Congressional. "I slammed my left hand in a locker door," O'Hern recalled, "and immediately went to the doctor who said I had a chronic partial tear of the ligament in my left thumb. She made me a splint to wear off the course and I taped my hand while I was playing and it didn’t appear to effect my golf. At the time the only other option was surgery which would have put me out of the game for up to three months so I kept playing hoping it would improve." Despite the problem, the lefty finished 75th on the PGA Tour money list and posted an impressive T-10 at the weather-plagued Turning Stone after the injury. If he's out the full 12 weeks, the Northern Trust Open (Feb. 19-22) could be his return site; otherwise, look for him on the Florida Swing.

 Brent Geiberger-GNov. 19 - 5:14 pm et
Brent Geiberger withdrew during the first round of the second stage of Q School in Beaumont, California today.
This was to be Geiberger's first action since withdrawing from the Viking Classic due to a sore back. When more information regarding today's WD becomes available, we will update you.

 Tommy Armour III-GNov. 19 - 3:23 pm et
Tommy Armour III is in the field at this week's Pebble Beach Invitational.
TA3 withdrew after 54 holes of the season-ending Children's Miracle Network Classic with a hand injury, but is ready to defend his 2007 title at the event on the Monterey Peninsula. Tom Lehman (wrist tendinitis) and Marc Turnesa (personal reasons) withdrew.
