Earlier this week I visited the Golf Club at Bridgewater in Lakeland Florida for the first time. This is a new facility that recently opened this past spring ('07). I had heard a few good things about the course so figured I'd better get out there and see for myself.
The course is designed by Steve Smyers who has a reputation of creating courses that have many risk-reward options and Bridgewater certainly has ample. The course is a "linksy" design that has very challenging looking green complexes and plenty of deep faced bunkers. I would recommend that if you are from the Orlando or Tampa area or if you will be travelling that way some time this winter that you give Bridgewater a try.
I do have four rounds of golf to give away to this course through my golf course guide website 1StopForGolf.com. Either go to 1StopForGolf.com and register to win a round through our "Great Golf Giveaway" contest or simply contact me through "The Golf Space".
