Club Change

I recently was playing with a simple starter set until a couple weeks ago. I hadn't seen the need to change them yet. The only drawback I saw to them was that I had problems hitting the ball straight with my driver, which just made me have to do a little more work. I was hitting around in the golf store that I work with, with a driver with a more decent shaft and was killing the ball. It was dead straight almost everyshot. Plus, my mishits were more forgiving. I decided to have some clubs made for me since that is cheaper than buying a new driver and all new clubs(even with my discount). I had our golfworks manager build me a set of maltby CT250 woods with proforce 65 shafts. In all that cost me the same as buying 1 Taylormade Superquad off of their discount website. With these I was hitting the ball much straighter. I lost a yard or two due to the shafts being a little stiffer than my old ones, but my manager told me that it was a much better improvement over the old woods that I had (Don't know if he was just trying to convince me to buy them or not). I had him hit around with my irons and he said I needed new ones also. That I actually ordered offline for extra discount.

With the new clubs that I have I play a whole lot more consitantly. Just seems that the starters sets may say regular flex, when in reality it is something like senior or more flexible.

Just wanted to throw it out there that my game is improving and hope all your games are doing well.

It is ture that your starter set shaft might have said regular flex but at that lower price I don't think that they put the time in to make sure that the shafts were regular flex.. Now that your manager made a set for you he put in time to make sure that you have the right equipment in your clubs... Enjoy your new set and good golfing.
