Torn a Ligament

Posted by golfnut59 in Untagged

Trip at the 17th hole at The Players championship yesterday and
tore a ligament in my bad knee. So I have to rest for 2 to 3 months, NO GOLF . Doctor and the nurse have a bet on how long I will rest it. Doctor think I will not make a week and the nurse think that I will last a month.

I had surgery on that knee at the age of 16. Tore the knee completely. They took out everything in the knee out and replaced it with a gel pack( like the ones used in a breast implants), ligament form an animal( Not saying what type of animal). It work out great and the US Medical board bandited the surgery. Doctors came over from Germany to do the surgery. Still shocked that it took 27 years to fail.

That why I am out!  But not for long.  I will be playing very soon. When I am stand on it with out plain.

I feel your pain! I had a meniscus tear back in 1990 (quick and easy surgery and recovery) then tore the MCL & LCL and dislocated the knee cap in 2001. Long and painful recovery, but I hope your's is quick and painless. You can at least practice your putting...Take Care!

What a bummer! And to do it at the Players...man! Hang in there and do what the Dr. tells you...missing a little golf is small price to pay for the opportunity to play a lot of golf in the more distant future.

Here is a speedy recovery for both of us. I have been in the hospital for over a week. I had pancreitis. Thought I might have to have my gall bladder removed. Thankfully I don't. But Here I am. St. Vincent North. Sherwood, AR...YIPPIE!!

Hopefully I will be out in the next few days. I have lost almost 20lbs. smilies/smiley.gif
