RetirementPosted by Links2Fairways in Untagged |
June 18, 2008
First off, I would like to give a big thank you to all the supporters and friends over the years and I am very proud to have made the friends I have made all over the world and in my home country of Canada and the United States. There is a time in life when you come to realize no matter how hard you persevere your dreams, life's responsibilities and commitments come first and foremost. And for that, this day of June 16th 2008 I retire from the game of Professional Golf.
I would like to send a special thank you to all my sponsor /endorsements in the past and over the years Titleist/Accushnet, Snake Eyes/Golfsmith, Hippo Golf, Taylormade/Adidas, Wilson Canada Inc., Precept Golf, Maxfli, Adams Golf, Alias Footwear, Shot Inc., King Golf, JKruz Eyewear, Tattoo Golf, Portable Golf Solutions and anyone who has helped Team Palmer along the way over the years.
Back in December of 2007 my wife and I made a major decision that If there was lack of success in landing a corporate funding sponsor for my 2008 season and beyond. Along with my results for the Golf Channels Big Break 10 Show and the 2008 U.S. Open Qualifying was not a success. I would make the decision to retire my professional status in 2008 year end. It has come to that time in my life to make a choice for the better of my family and due to the recent injury I aquired with my right wrist the decision has been made sooner in the year.
I would like to say to all the golfers who are just out of college and making the decision to turn pro enjoy the ride! I sure did. There is nothing like the sport of Golf in the world! yet alone to be able to play professional tournament golf. I hope all the success in the world to any individual who makes the decision to turn professional.Just make sure you have good business savy to support your career and family and/or your future family. Also make sure you have a good education to back you up when the day comes you may have to retire.
Although I am retiring professional golf. That does not mean I will not enjoy the pleasure of beating my friends out on any track...I will always be up for a round of golf in the future...
Cheers! and God Bless to everyone PJ

| PJ have you thought about becoming a pro at a course. I have no knowledge about what that would pay or how to go about becoming a pro, I was just thinking it may be a way for you to stay close to a game that you obviously love. I wish you the best of luck in what ever future endevour you decide to persue. | |

| Scruffy's right! The key to succes in golf as well as in life is "Never give up!" There may be several bogeys in life down the road, but there are the inevitable birdies and eagles (& double-eagles?)down there, too! You gave it a shot-- and that's more than a lot of us can say! Best of Luck!! | |
