I actually perfer the Maxfli Noodle Ice. It hits well, isn't too expensive, and the best part for me: it is easy to find due to the bright colors. When I'm more accurate, I'll switch to a premium ball, but until then, I'm not going to pay that kind of money for a sleeve of balls that will just get lost.

Ah what came first the chicken or the egg? You'll switch to a better ball when you become more accurate. But would you become more accurate IF you switched to a better ball?

Good point.

At this point in the development of my game, I'm pretty sure that I'll be a lot more accurate if I work some kinks out of my swing.

Post edited by: Golf Junkie, at: 2007/02/28 11:05

So far, I still can't convince myself to shell out the bucks for ProV1's, HX Tours, etc.

I generally stick to the mid-priced stuff - lately playing mainly the Callaway HX Hot and the Bridgestone e5. Planning to give the NXT Tour a try.

For the price, the e5 seems to be a heckuva good ball.

You are right. I got a box of e5's and e6's and they were pretty good. The 5 went exactly as far as a prov1.

I like the feel of the nxt's off the irons. I like the Laddie Extreme too for $20 a dozen.

The big problem I have with most of the cheap ones is short game. That's where I see a big difference.

I live on a course though so I haven't actually bought golf balls in close to 2 years.

If you want to try a very good ball and not spend a bunch of money for them, try the new Precept IQ180.
