is a 3rd wedge worth it? 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I currently have 2 wedges, PW (45 degrees) with a medium bounce and a SW (55 degrees) with a high bounce. The courses I play mostly have tight firm grass where a wedge would come into play. I was thinking a 56 or 60 degree with low bounce to help with these situations. I'm just not sure though, as I play my PW in almost all wedge situations, adjusting my grip/stance/address as needed for the shot that fits. My SW is mostly used for sand traps/bunkers and that occasional lie in some green side rough.

I'm sure those of you that play more frequently than once weekly have several wedges to choose from, any suggestions?

hey man I play 4 at company tourney's but three at weekend scrambles , now my 60* is my go to wedge.
anytime around the greens that I want an approach that will hop twice and roll 8 inches,or a bunker shot where I have to hiy it high but short.
my sand wedge is mostly used for 75 yrd. to 90 yrd. shots my pw is used for 110 yrds or bump and roll shots.
company tourney's I use a 52* just in case I need a little bump with less roll , you never know when you dont know the course that you will be playing

I carry 4 wedges all the time. PW, 52, 56, 60. Couldn't live without 'em! My lob has low bounce, 4 degrees. That is primarily because I'm a steep player and too much bounce causes problems.

I just posted an article on the Bobby Jones wedges which are very nice. I'd say the best wedges I've played are the Titleist Vokey spin milled and the bobby jones. Eidolon makes great ones too, Hogan, Callaway and many others are very nice.

Just like any other club, you should demo some and see which ones work best for your game.

I two carried 3 wedges and I love my 60 I use it all around the green and get it close to the hole to save alot of pars here. It is the best club that I carry in my bag. Love Cad

I use three. PW for 90-110 yards, SW 70-90, LW 40-60. Everything else is half or three quarter swings which I struggle with.

Wow come on in out of the stone age man! These are your scoring clubs, at the very least you need to plug that 10 degree gap you have between your 2 wedges. Almost everyone I know and play with either has 3 or 4 wedges in their bags. I carry 4 PW, 52, 56, 60.
