I Play Callaway BB graphite shaft irons, 3-PW. I play a Ping LW and SW (also graphite shaft) because I like the heft of the old Ping wedges. I like to use almost zero grip pressure so I can feel the clubhead--little or no leverage with fingers. Graphite shafts are lighter.
I use a Cobra driver (had an R-7) and Taylormade R-7 3-w. A Callaway BB 5w, all graphite shafts. Putt with a Scotty Newport (also graphite shaft).
I strongly believe that the difference between "us and them" hacking amateurs vs the really good golfers is the downswing sequence. Only 1% or fewer amateurs can start their downswing with hips, their knees, or something other than upper body. And that's the difference. We swing OTT and they don't. It is a fact that if we don't start with lower body-- we WILL start with shoulders--the very definition of OTT.
Watch Hogan explain what he thought is the "most important thing in the golf swing:"

I do his little "pump" drill every warmup, every range session. I know I will swing OTT if I don't. When I quickly ingrain it, I can actually hit them straight, make crisp contact with any iron or fairway wood!
