My 30th birthday is coming up and my wife has been bugging me about what I'd want as a present.

I'm considering the possibility of a little golf getaway for my wife and I so we can both improve our game and just enjoy playing golf for a couple of days.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think we'd prefer to stay in the mid-Atlantic area around Maryland.

Also, my wife very rarely plays and is really looking for a lot of beginner help. Do you think that this would be helpful for her or would the school expect her to have more swing fundamentals down that she should work on first?

Don't know about back east. But around here Mesquite Nevada is great.

I'm really not to sure in Maryland but if your ever thinking of FL instead check out the one at the Grand Cypress Resort or the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

I would suggest any Dave Pelz 3 day school....

It's nowhere near Maryland, but I recently attended a 3-day school at the Academy of Golf Dynamics in Austin, TX, and I can't recommend it highly enough. We had an 8-person class, and there were always at least 4, and often 5 instructors present.

It was really a great experience, and has helped my game immensely.
