Seems like a good question to pose to the forum ... How many of us have been custom fitted for our clubs ...

I realize there are many interruptions to the term "Custom Fit" ... You sought out a custom club maker/fitter ... Been measured, floor to srist and your hand measured ... had your swing looked at (one or two plane swing) ... Your Swing Speed and Launch Angle Measured. A demo club made for you to hit and evaluate. Had your clubs loft and lie adjusted?

Ping sent me to get fitted when they set me up with the Rapture clubs last winter. Up until then the closest I have been to getting fitted was buying a set of Callaway X14's with the shaft flex I needed. I played with a set of old Magregor Murfield clubs that I bought off the shelf back in 1984 for almost 20 years.

Had both the driver and irons custom fit.

Most companies hold demo days and usually can fit you on the range watching ball flight and distance with feedback from the player in regards to feel and what ball flight they prefer. I was once asked what does measuring your wrist to floor tell you? Answer- how far your wrist is from the floor!No one hits with their hands by their sides so why measure it. Sure it gives you a rough guide on length but that's all.Nothing beats a dynamic fitting and whats more it's free.

Mumbo.... MOST DEMO days are there for one reason and that is .... TO SELL YOU THERE CLUBS ... I am sure they (INSERT GOLF COMPANY) will tell you these clubs will do the deal ... I would tell you that DEMO DAY did NOT FIT you except to get your $$ for THERE CLUBS .... It is not a fitting unless they: measure your loft and lie ... grip measurement ... watch your ball flight and swing speed. They did measure you, wrist to hand ... to see if that club you are hitting is + or - standard length ... did they later a club to your measurements, adjusted the loft and lie ... Unless the DEMO DAY did that ... you were fitted alright, to be SUCKERED out of your $$

Tomahawk ,all i was trying to suggest was that to be fitted correctly it must be done outdors.Ball and feel are just part of the equation. A good company holding a demo day(using a launch monitor) should check lie angles fit the proper size grip ,kick point,shaft, head design,length,etc and so on too many to mention.If a company is not providing you with that service they are not fitting and you should demand more.But if you want to be measured wrist to floor(standing in an upright position), and hit balls into a net,go ahead and be my guest. p.s what is standard length?
