Tony, that's the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
We don't have more refineries due to big Oil's influence and money. By controlling the refineries we have, they are able to jack the price up when they want.
What I want to know is why is it we have 143 refineries that process 17,443,492 barrels a day in this country and they ALL tend to shut down for so called 'maintenance' (coincidentally) right before the summer driving season starts.
Oh, and not for nothing, I filled up the car yesterday at (only) $34. What a bargain ! But then again, I’ve got a little Ford Focus. Should have seen the SUV’s and Hummers pulling in and only pumping $20 bucks or so....guess that’ll be enough to get them home.....
