If I ever take this game more serious, I was testing the ladies Callaway clubs the other day and I did well with those. But before I spend a lot of $$$ on my next set I want to try them all out at the store first. But that will be a long time from now.

Melissa, you should spend time getting a good fitting, it is worth alot and costs very little. Usually the fitter will give you the cost of the fitting back when you buy clubs. Like Golfsmith, has a huge fitting center in Austin. Not sure I would trust some guys in their retail stores, but its better than buying off the rack.

Re:Nike Sumo Irons 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I tried several different irons and drivers before my 1st lesson at the PGA Superstore. I hit a Callaway driver the best and Nike OSS irons the best. Didn't buy anything and used my Wilson beginner set at my first lesson but could tell there was a big difference. Before my next lesson, I checked out Craigs list and as luck would have it, I found a ladies set of Nike OSS and Callaway X-460 which was similiar to what I hit at the store, plus a Nike hybrid and cheap putter and bag all for $600. The lady was going through a divorce and her hubby bought them so she hated golf, played with them one round and wanted to just get rid of them! I had a friend go with me to check them out and he said to get them as long as I knew that I could hit with them. My next lesson went well. So, I guess I'm sticking with the Nike and Callaway for a while. I hated the pink bag...gave it to a friend who loves pink and won a putter at a golf scramble tourney about a month later. Stuff like that never happens!

Tony...forgot to mention...I'll borrow the X-14 at my next clinic (they let me do anything I want there) to see what happens but I thought I tried that one and hit the Nike straighter and farther. Weird!
