How to deal with a deadbeat fantasy sponsor? 1 Year, 3 Months ago

I've got an issue. I've been going back and forth with a certain (unnamed as of yet) fantasy sponsor who is blowing us all off. He's supposed to supply prizes and I've been emailing him since half way through the season asking where they are. His answer is always something like "I'm waiting for my supplier" or "I'm out of stock" etc...
This sponsor has gotten countless thousands of hits from the links he's gotten in exchange for supplying the prizes and has yet to provide anything.
So I'm thinking of drafting a blog post for Hooked On Golf Blog and for The Golf Space exposing this person. Tens of thousands of people will be able to read the post which will expose him for being a dead beat fantasy prize sponsor.
I'll give him a deadline to get me the prizes before I publish the article. I'll give him an opportunity to get his program in gear and get the prizes to me before he's potentially exposed for this...
Any better suggestions?

Post edited by: Tony, at: 2007/09/03 19:21

At the least, disable his links.
Can you place him on moderation so he can't post here until/unless he comes through with the goods?

Both of these I've considered...
Disabling his links would involve some serious un-doing of many posts here and on hog.

I've suspended this person from using TGS. That's a start. We'll see if that gets his attention.

First, when are the prizes due??
Second, will slating him solve the problem?
Third, will another supplier be interested in "saving the day"??? If someone else in the same market came through, I know I would consider his products well before any others...
Just a cent or 2

I asked for his contribution before the 1st half of the season was over. That was 16-18 weeks ago. I've sent some friendly PM's since and even commented that I felt for his company if they haven't had any product to sell for months on end during the peak of the golf season...
What is "slating"? You mean slanting?
As far as another product goes, there really isn't anything related so I'd have to replace those prizes with something else out of my pocket.
This whole thing has made me consider what I'm doing for next year and I believe that I have a good idea. Sponsors must send in the season's prizes at the first of the year or they won't receive the links and promotion...
