Do I need a new Driver 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Would it benefit my game to invest in a new or used good driver? I have no skill and I have a no name driver. Would upgrading my driver now help me to up grade my drive or should I hold off until I develop my skill (used loosely)to a higher level?
If i should any recommendations on the make of driver? Something forgiving that fights a slice.

The first mistake most golfers make is they think they can "buy a game"...

If your clubs fit you ok don't mess with them. Take the money you'd spend on clubs and get LESSONS FROM A PRO before you learn a bunch of bad habits. Now I could see replacing your driver if it had an xxx stiff shaft and your swing speed was 70mph, but I'd get lessons first.

I've just decided I'm going to buy myself a set of fitted clubs next year -- but even in my short time back playing it's pretty clear that there is so much you can do to improve your game by just . . . improving your game. Fitted clubs will be the icing on the cake . . .

My clubs are fitted! Last week I fit them into the ground, onto the exact top of the ball, neatly under the ball. As they where brand new I didnt fit one or two into the tree's! End of the day all i had to do was bend them straight and they fit right back into the bag!
Kidding of course.

I was in the same situation, and when I returned to my golf pro he tweaked my swing and i hit my driver good. I later went out and thought i could buy a couple more yards but it turns out I lost yards switching shafts. I am currently back to my old shaft (Pro Launch Blue) and am hitting the ball good again.

If you do go and get a new driver I would suggest the G2-G5 or G10 when it comes out in the fall. PING makes very good clubs. I hit my G5 about 40 yards farther then my Taylormade Burner. The G5 is forgiving. while you want to fix your slice, you might want to go with the taylormade R7 Quad or SuperQuad which offers a draw setting, also a Offset driver will fix or reduce a slice/fade. Offsets are normally found in higher degree's (10.5, 13.5) which Ping does offer.
