Blog entries and forum entries? 1 Year, 4 Months ago
I am a little newto this word:Blog? What is the difference between posting a blog in the front page as apposed to posting a thread here? I ask because I wonder ifg some of my silly comments should be posted elsewhere

A blog is a more personal thing or journal if you will. \"Blog\" is short for \"web log\".

The forum is more of an open discussion.

The forum is a place for informal conversation...a blog is a place to write about whatever interestes you...in the golf world preferably. Chat is sort of coffee shop conversations betweem friends.

In a forum, you can butt in...in chat you sort to have to ask to join in. With a blog, you just talk and hope someone will listen.

But in all three communication and interaction is the common ingredient.

Well one other aspect is that in the forum anyone can start a topic and the public can respond if it\'s a public blog.

A blog can be a public or private post and the topic is always started by the blogger. Most blogs have linkbacks or trackbacks (links to each other) and blogrolls (links to other blogs).

Now the blog engine here is greatly improved over what it was originally, but it\'s still not as good or powerful as a full-on blog engine like wordpress. It doesn\'t yet have the trackbacks and blogrolls etc. And it doesn\'t have a \"private\" setting but if you just save it as a draft then you can read your posts but they\'re not viewable by the public...

Post edited by: Tony, at: 2007/07/10 05:26
