When I have a ball that is working well for me, I tend to stick with it. I regularly use a ball for 4-5 rounds. Back in 2006 I had one ball that I couldn't seem to lose. That ball was played for 216 holes. Eventually I lost it when I overshot a hole and the ball disappeared in light rough.

One ball maybe 36 holes but I doubt it but keep in mind that was a ProTrajectoryTitleist (Balata)
New ball that isn't wound but solid center I guess as long as you don't lose it you can play quite a few.
I haven't found a ball yet that I like like the old balata cause you had so much control with your short game.
