Any range finders better than a Pin Seeker 1500? 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Yes, GPS's are cool. BUT I like to shoot stuff to see how far away it is, and not just the front or back of the green or distance to carry a hazard. I like to shoot my ball or where I landed my ball to see exactly how far I hit it or how far it carried. I prefer range finders, but they all suck except for when I tried a Bushnell Pinseeker 1500.

Most the range finders give you about 20 numbers depending on how well they bounce off the flag or target, and how steady you hold your hand. "Bob, it's either 248 or 127 or 194"...

The 1500 though, seemed right on with ONE number. Is this still the best or is there something better out there?

Tony,

I have always used the Elite 1500. I tested it out. I went to a local course and measured the first hole. The rangefinder read that it was 350 yds to the pin. We ran a fishing line from where I was standing to the pin, in a straight line. My friend used the line counter and the result was a difference of 1 foot.

Now every time I play in a tournament. I go to the course the day before and make my own yardage book. Boy does it help.

I have tested the Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 and it is about 2ft to 3ft off. I think the difference is that the elite 1500 have the pin point setting and when view through the eye piece you are look through binoculars. This give you the best view of target.

I hope this help you out.
