Golf and Alcohol ? 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I was at the driving ranger 4/18. As I was leaving, a former customer notice me. She ran over to me and wanted to join her team for a best ball tournament at this course. I agree to help her out.

On the first tee, they told me the rule to the tournament.
1- you have to drink a bloody mary on the 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th holes before teeing off.
2- if you team scores a bogie/PLUS; you drink a bloody mary.
3- if you team scores a birdie; the team behind you drinks.
4- if you team scores an eagle; same as rule 3, but if rule 2 come in to play. RULE 2 IS PASSED BACK. they drink 2.

Those who know me! Know I do not drink.

I told her and she said that "I can drink ICE TEA for my drink that she had brought with her." Will we never bogied until the last hole. But we did eagle all the par 5's and 2 par 4's.

I was feeling great after the round and she told me that I was drinking not regular Ice tea, but long Island Ice tea.
I found myself unable to drive home form North Jersey and stand at a motel. The room is still spinning.

This was a fun tournament. Has any one even play in this type of tournament?

I have play in a beer one and a buddy drank for me everytime. There was a keg at ever hole.

Sounds funny. I'll have a beer now and then on the course, but I'm not there to drink. I'm there to golf.

I'm drinking today out on the course....but it surely won't be a Bloody Mary After reading those rules, I think I have lost all interest in Bloody Mary's now, that would make me yack!

I have played in several tournaments though and we carry a "Birdie Bottle" of whiskey...and every birdie our team would get we each would have to take a shot...since we were not the greatest of golfers then, (and the other 3 were guys) we had no worries....well, until we ended up shooting 14 under and were too drunk to drive home after winning. Funny thing is, we ended up winning 2 years and a row. Ever since then...I am all for a good "Golf and Alcohol" Challenge. I call it my "Swing Lube".

I agree with Tony...I'll have a beer now and then. I must add though, there are some "old timers" that play the course that I usually play. Those guys play some wacky rules and end up twisted beyond recognition...and drive themeselves home to top it off! In my opinion, I think there's a line between having a good time and being a hazard to yourself and others. Good call on getting the room though!
