Better fantasy league for 2008? Suggestions? 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Is there a better FREE fantasy league out there than the yahoo one? We had 100 teams and will probably have more next season. Yahoo only allows 50. Also I don't like how yahoo's lets you start players who aren't even playing...

SUGGESTIONS FOR WHERE TO HOST THE FANTASY LEAGUE FOR 2008 ARE WELCOMED!

We discussed these earlier, but I'll put them out here in case anyone else has any opinions on them...

ESPN Best Ball - Similar format as far as Best ball is concerned, but you pick 4 guys within a salary cap and keep them all 4 days. The leagues are bigger, unlimited I think as my league has 153 people in it.

Rotoguru.com - Same as ESPN with 4 guys and a salary cap, but no leagues.

CBS Sportsline, PGA Tour and NBC's Be the ball all have various games to play some with limited leagues.

Sporting News - Similar again to ESPN with 4 guys and a salary cap with limted league size.

I'm sure there are others out there, but I might think ESPN Best ball might be the slight favorite.

There is my two cents worth = what do you all think?

Post edited by: Apollokidd, at: 2007/09/04 23:44

You can have a public or private league. It is free, but they may change it. You will have to contact them and let them know how you want the league set-up. Below is how to play.

This is the rules:
How to play Big Ball Weekend:

1. Pick your team for this game: 1 player -from- Category A, 2 -from- Category B, 4 -from- Category C, by choosing from the drop down list. Only players entered in each tournament are your choices, but you’ll need to stay abreast of the latest news because last minute additions & deletions to the field are possible. Watch our website message section for information concerning withdrawals from the tournament field.

2. You can't violate the rules; we'll tell you if you do! It's easy to pick your team and play!

3. Your team of seven players competes for PGA earnings in this 4 day Major tournament with other teams in your league!

4. Team registration/player selection begins Monday at 0001 CDT and closes on Wednesday of the tournament week at 2200 CDT!

5. Assuming your entry is complete, i.e., (7 players selected and a tie-breaker score), you must then "FINALIZE" your entry by clicking the prompt when it appears and you're satisfied with your team. The tie-breaker score is the score of the tournament winner relative to par.

6. Once you've "finalized" your team no changes are allowed to your team. If you have questions about this email: mailto: mailto: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Don't forget, you must finalize your team to be entered in this game, otherwise your team entry is voided!

7. Game winner: The team with the highest total combined earnings (official PGA $ earnings) per 4-day event. In the event of a tie (similar teams picked) the tiebreaker is your guess of the PGA event winner's score relative to par, i.e., 10 under par.

8. If you're a winner, your private league commissioner will contact you with additional instructions. Your league page displays final results as soon as PGA earnings are final- generally Sunday evening. You'll know results are final when you see "standings" updated with actual data from this tournament.
