Golf Retail Sales Down?? 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
I have noticed that the sales of golf related items (my swingreminders) and my e-bay sales items has dropped off in the past 2 months. We have also seen a drop in sales in the golf shop at my course.
Has anyone else in the retail business seen this drop? Do you think it is gas prices? Let me know what you think.

You will learn, as I have, that the entire golf industry is affected by the TF. What is TF? It's the "Tiger Factor." If Tiger is playing, winning, in the spotlight etc, then all of my golf related web traffic is much higher and my google ad revenue higher. When Tiger isn't playing, all traffic is down. I would think the same goes for golf retail as well.

When Tiger is in contention in a major, my traffic is nearly DOUBLED.

It may be a reflection of the economy in general. I run a manufacturing company and our year to date sales are down nearly 15%.

I've never thought of the TW factor very interesting. I do believe that the down turn in the economy has a lot to do with it. My affiliate sales are next to nil in the past 2 months.

Our sales took a huge hit right after the 4th and have just started to come back around. No idea what happened... No site outages, no major changes in advertising...

The weighting biz. is doing just fine. We see more sales now, than when TW was playing. More people want to get fit, it seems like.
