I use Top Flite XL Distance. It is a very inexpensive ball (and that is important with the amount of water I play near!)... I use the distance balls so I can get down the fairway without relying on my driver. I can use my hybrid or 2 iron and get close to the same distance with much greater accuracy than I would with an "easy drive".

I also use maxfli noodles, another inexpensive ball with really good results...but you'll still have to pry the Top Flites out of my cold dead hands!

I have been using Pro V1's and Pro V1x's since they first came out. I had always found them to be the best balls for my game and very durable. For friendly games I found I regularly got 8-10 rounds out of a ball. Recently I managed to get a mixed bag of pearl quality Taylor Made TP's. I found the TP black was longer for me than the the TP red or the ProV1 and ProV1x. However I prefered the TP red around the green. I recently got hold of a sleeve of the new Taylor Made TP Black LDP. This ball has just the trajectory and distance that I want and lands softly. I'm still to access it's durability and how it performs in the wind but so far it looks like Taylor Made may have made a convert out of me.

I liked the TP series, but liked the red the best. I really chew them up with my wedges though. A few hard lob wedges and half the skin on the ball is gone.
