| About Me: |
After completing both my undergraduate and masters degree programs at Shippensburg University, I entered the golf business in September of 1996. I was first hired as an Assistant Professional at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York, Pennsylvania. I later moved onto Meadia Heights Golf Club, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I was then hired as the Teaching Professional at Overlook Golf Course in February 2003. I am still employed as a Teaching Pro but work independently because of my full-time position as a college instructor at YTI Career Institute in York, PA. I work in the Golf Course Management program within in the business department.
I was elected to membership in the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) ~ May 2006.
While completing my college degrees at Shippensburg University, I had the opportunity to compete and coach at a high level of college baseball. I have taken those experiences as well the training I have received daily from some of the best Golf Professionals and use this knowledge to help you, Improve "Your" Game.
Throughout my career I have given a large number of individual and group lessons to golfers of all levels and expertise, from the beginner to the advanced. No matter your skill level, my teaching philosophy is very simple. I believe that fundamentals are the key to a better golf swing. The grip, setup, alignment and proper swing motions are the avenues to success. There are no hidden secrets to this game. Proper fundamentals, a good practice routine and sound basic instruction with the desire to keep learning will have you enjoying and playing better golf.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My objective in teaching the game of golf is to help my students improve their skills and develop their abilities. I believe I am obligated to show the student how to benefit best from each lesson. Each student will receive a better understanding of the golf swing and what it takes to develop their game and make it better. Various forms of reinforcement will aid in this learning process.
Golf is game that we can learn something new everyday as well as every time we pick up our set of clubs and head out to the course or practice range. Not only can we learn something new, we can improve and grow as a golfer. My job is to evaluate and instruct each student and provide them with the tools to improve and reach their goals. Teaching golf is as enjoyable for me as an instructor as it is for the student achieving their goals.
Over time, I have had the opportunity to learn this great game of golf from some great people. From each of them, I have gathered a wealth of information that I now pass onto my students.
